A really really long week... to say the least!

Wow, it is only Wednesday and my post has a title of long week. That should speak volumes! So my week started off with me changing clubs at the end of the month and it looked like I was going to Gold's here in London, then that changed because the 2 new sales team members at Sherwood quit, so then I ended up staying. So as it stands i am at Sherwood at least until the end of April. We will see. I have a whole bag of mixed emotions on that subject. But oh well, what can you do, everything happens for a reason... right?! It all goes back to the philosophy... Happiness is a choice!
More later I have a day off or two coming in the next 4 and have tonnes to blog about

KarloSoze lives again!

Thanks to Mr. Kuiack I was kindly tipped off to to the fact that our dear Carlo has blessed the land of blogging again. I suspect that his words will be sporadic as usual but as entertaining as ever.

Hey Carlo, if you are reading, congrats eh! I hear you are doing the ultimate grown up act... getting married. Good man :o)

I learned something today, actually not that I actually learned something new, more so a reinforcement of fact that I tend to forget. Here it is...

'Regardless of the time of day, 5 minutes is the longest time frame there is!'

Think about it, not too hard though, my intention is not to cause cerebral hemorrhaging.
Think of all the times in a day, month week, year, that you hear, "I will be there in 5 minutes!" or "I am leaving here in 5!" or "Sure, shouldn't take me more than 5, no problem!" or "Follow that road about 5 minutes then turn right or left. You'll know when you have gone to far when...."
Now think about how many times those instructions, quotations, exclamations and summations of time were actually 5 minutes. If your law of averages are something like mine then you have probably given up at least a year of your life counting on these 5's to actually be just that. The definition of Insanity sums it up I think. We have a saying at work that at this moment I cannot remember verbatim how it goes however, it follows the context of... " repeatedly doing something wrong and making no changes to how you do it however expecting a new result! that is insanity!" So why do we, the human race, such poor creatures of habit, when we know that it is not going to happen in 5 minutes still wait 10,20, 30 or even 90 minutes for "it" to happen. Insane I say!

Sim update....
My roommate got a promotion at work and she has stopped peeing on the floor!, I bought a fireplace and am depressed because I work too much... ah the irony!

Cheers,
L

Au Revoir Sex in The City

So the last episode has come an gone.

Love.

In all forms, on all faces, the best place to be.

An exit with a smile, the best way to leave.

:o)

Hello, My Name is Leanne and, I am a Simaholic.

I confess, I have successfully been bitten by the gaming bug. In the past I have cursed them, never had anything good to say about them, other then the fact that they have amazing graphics and special effects. Alas, I digress, I am an addict. The Sims, they did it, hooked me within the first 3 hours of the experience. As hard as I try, I cannot live without it. I think about how my disfunctional family is doing all day long. I jones to go home to find out if my damn roommate has peed on the floor again or if the fish died or if the repairman fixed the hot tub. I cringe at the fact that my stupid roommate won't change a lightbulb or flush the damn toilet. She just got fired two minutes ago, stupid bitch...lol and now I have to start all over again. Well at least until the last save! Phew for the save feature! SO alas I admit, I am aware that the addiction exists, and no! I am not prepared for therapy yet! I will seek help ones it is required and not a moment before. I have not missed work yet because of it, I still talk to my boyfriend and yes I still eat! I know that I am lacking on regular blog updates this I am truly sorry for, but what do you expect me to do, unplug the X Box? You have got to be kidding!!

Well in my real life things are totally insane. I am in the midst of working 16 days in a row, I am still not sure which club I am going to be working out of as of April first and during the month of April my job is sending me all over Ontario. I will be in Ottawa one day and then Markham the next and then London the following day. Bling Bling for the mileage fairy! Other than that all is well. Tired but well.

Gotta go, my quest for a new roommate will not accomplished unless I continue the game.

Cheers! Happy Spring all.

Oh and Happy Belated Birthday to The Google Master, both you and your blog have lasted another year... great job, have one on me :o)

Got Sent Home From Work... Might as Well Blog!

SO the title says it all. Got sent home from work because I have Impetigo Impetigo. Not sure how I got it, haven't had it in years, and all the info states that kids are the primary recipients of this disgusting skin ailment, so not sure why I have it at 29( well almost 29). Well either way I have gotten 2 days off of work paid since I am salaried and another tomorrow, if it is not cleared up enough to not be considered contagious.

The boss said to go home and relax... Not quite sure what this relaxing thing is that people keep telling me that I should do, to me it equals boredom. I think I will end up going to the gym, Sandringham GoodLife has BodyFlow on tonight at 6:30... Sounds like a plan to me. Body Flow is awesome. I recommend it to all of you who want to get into a healthier lifestyle yet lack the interest of have too much fear. Flow is awesome as it is a no impact group class that follows a non conventional format, addressing the strengths and weaknesses in body mind and spirit. Sound hokey? It is not I promise.

So what is new in my world? Well I finished Boot Camp, it was very informative to say the least. Almost scary informative. I am supposed to do a feedback email on it and I have yet to do so, still attempting to process all the information I suppose. Unfortunaley I cannot say that I had a pleasant experience in the Hotels that I was booked into. The Valhalla Inn on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being, move me in I am home, I would give it a 5. 3 of the 5 points come from how awesome the beds and pillows were. A loss of 3 points came from the customer service and the inadequacies of the staff. The last 2 points gained came from the convenience of having all the conference rooms right on sight fully serviced. I had to take 2 points away for the fact that it was 10 bucks for 2 eggs poached and 2 pieces of toast! Not room service even! When you are there for a week that is well over 50 bucks just for breakfast! Needless to say I am broke after that week, I will get it back, I get to expense it however it will be a month before I get reimbursed.

Now the second hotel was The Raddison, I would give it a 6.75 out of 10. The beds sucked!, especially after leaving the amazing beds at the Valhalla, but the customer Service was far superior, and the dining was miles above the Valhalla. We had full service conference rooms there as well, and the rooms were nicer. The rooms were nicer too, but still I wouldn't stay there again unless it was another work function. Both times I had a gorgeous view of either the 427 or the 401( both multi lane provincial highways here in Ontario).

On a fluffier note, it snowed here... Again! I am tired of the snow, winter is a take it or leave it season in my opinion, and I would rather leave it.

Oh ya I almost forgot... Happy St. Patrick's Day! . Can you tell that I am not Irish. I find the
Story of St. Pat really interesting though, all those years of thinking that he was the dude that got rid of all the snakes in Ireland, wow what a little history lesson will teach you. So in the spirit of the holiday here is a quiz for ya Do you have the luck of the Irish?.

Well that is it for today, now go get yourself some green beer eh!

I am Back :o)

Well I survived GoodLife GM Boot Camp.

It was actually a really great week. A whole lot of information learned. I knew there was a lot of work involved in being a GM at a fitness club however this week really put it in perspective. As anxious as I am to become a GM, I want to be a great one, not a mediocre one. So I came to the conclusion early into the week that I need to maximize the opportunity to be in training at a pretty good wage so that I can maximize my opportunities as a GM. What does this mean initially, well it means that I will not be going to Huntsville, yet. I was actually offered an interview for the position before the week was over, however I declined it. I don't want to waste anyone's time with an interview when I am not even confident in my own abilities.

Time will tell I suppose, as it always does, I am shooting for June/July to be in my own club. Why rush it just because there is an immediate opportunity. 2004 is one of the biggest growth years for GoodLife, we are actually celebrating our 25th Birthday party by opening 25 new clubs and giving away a million dollars in prizes. I think I have got in at a really good time. If you are thinking about a job change and are interested in the Health and Fitness Field I suggest you give good life a thought and check out the Careers option on the website.

You would figure I had a lot to update the blog with, I think I am still attempting to absorb the whole week and once I have it all organized I will have more info the regurgitate.

On a social note... We are planning a Girls night out this Friday if and female who read in London are interested in joining us. You know how to get a hold of me if you are interested in more details.

Well that is all for now

The Passions of The Christ

So I saw it... The Passions of The Christ I also see what all the hype is about. It was quite possibly one of the most graphic movies I have ever seen. It's funny I mentioned just that to a friend last night and his response was " reality is always more graphic than imagination". I supposed he is right however, me not being a very religious person I have a hard time with the idea that the movie was based on fact. As realistic as it was and as horrific as it was I am still no closer to believing in the story of the bible then I was the 2 hours and 15 minutes before I watched it. That may be blasphemous of me but it is how I feel. I have spent far too many years studying science, evolution and the human form to not be skeptical of a divine power that created and can end all. Hmmm a thought to ponder on a Sunday. One thing I would like to say is it is an incedribly well made movie. Kudos to Mel Gibson for his blood sweat and tears over this one. The cinemetography was phenomenal, the costumes, makeup and sets were very realistic, and the special effects were just plain awesome. All and all I give the move a strong 7.5 out of 10. Could have done without the subtitles, however they were clear, short and stayed up long enough so even the most primary of readers could have got through them easily.

On another note, work that is... I am off to Toronto for a week. Leaving today and returning next Saturday. I am off to what is called GM Boot Camp! I week of highly intensive training in a group environment. The company is footing the bill for me to stay in a hotel for a week, the Vahalla Inn as a matter of fact. I am really excited for the whole experience. I am roominf with someone as well from what I understand. Not sure who as of yet, but it will be nice to meet some new people.

On that note, I will not be posting for over a week unless I gain access to a computer while I am gone. Even if I do however I will likely not be blogging, more like checking me email.

Have an awesome week all, smile spring is just around the corner.
