Birthday Surprises...

Hello my name is Leanne, and I am 30!

LOL are there meetings for that?

Well I have to say this so far has been the best birthday, I will never forget it!

My bestest friend and her fabulous husband and my amazing boyfriend all arranged a big surprise adventure for my birthday, here is the story...

Friday April 29th
5:55 pm ish

Chris and I arrive at Aimee and Bill's, as per always Aimee is running on Aimee time, even though we were supposed to arrive at and depart at 5:30pm we were running late due to the evil line up at the bank. So at 7:15 or so we actually all pile into the Silver Saab and head out on the adventure. Keep in mind at this point in time I have no idea where we are going, how long it will take to get there or when I will be coming back.

8 pm ish or so

We arrive at the border... Buffalo I think,
"Where you headed?" the not completely unattractive customs officer asks
"New York City!" Bill responds
HUGE smile dawns my face... I have always wanted to go to NYC but have never made it there yet!

10 minutes later we are in USA headed to NYC!

Fast forward several hours including a stay in Syracuse and the remainder of the drive to NYC we arrive in New Jersey at the Hyatt Regency on the water overlooking Manhattan at about 2ish on the 30th.

So our rooms weren't ready so we headed to the restaurant in the hotel for lunch and then to our room. We had an awesome view of the Empire States building and the whole Manhattan skyline. Our room was awesome with a HUGE kingsize bed!

After unpacking a bit and getting directions Chris and I headed out on the PATH to go on a foot adventure in NYC.

We wandered around in the East village and the fashion district and did some shopping. We both bought a dynamite pair of Puma shoes, and a really cute I love NY outfit for the baby. After several hours of wandering we headed back to the hotel because my feet hurt like hell!!!

After changing into nicer clothes we all headed down to the restaurant and had dinner... Very nice... Very expensive.... Very yummy!
We all had red meat except Bill, he had Tuna.
The Miami Heat were staying at the Hotel since they were in town to play someone else...LOL, while we were eating dinner guess who walks by... Shaq! No shit... Damn that man is huge!

After stuffing ourselves like pigs we all waddled up to our rooms to pass out.

While laying in bed, Chris and I actually saw the baby move for the first time. I have been feeling it move for a while now and he has felt it a few times but this is the first time we ever saw it move. Apparently this kid loves NYC and gourmet food and wanted us to know about it!

We attempted to sleep however there were a bunch of rowdy morons running the halls, needless to say it was not going to put a damper on my weekend.

We got up bright and early, headed back to the restaurant to have buffet breakfast which again was amazing then off to NYC.

The PATH picked us up right outside the hotel doors and the trip was all of 3 minutes to the WTC site, then 20 minutes to Central Park where the day began. We went on a carriage ride through Central Park, saw Trump International Place, Tavern on the Green and of course Central Park. Aimee was feeling crappy so she and Bill headed back to the hotel soon after that and Chris and I continued on our foot adventure.

This is how it panned out...

We went to Rockefeller Center to Build a Bear and made the baby a teddy bear with all our love.
Then we headed to the underground part of Rockefeller and then to the NBC studios store. After that we wandered through the city saw Radio City Music Hall, wandered through Times Square and then headed to Macy's after stopping at Subway for some lunch. Macy's is really friggen huge, Chris bought a tie since he left his at home and needed it for the "event" that evening.

Then it was the Empire States building... After over an hour in line and an 86 floor elevator ride we were over the city. Damn that is a really long way up! You can see everything from up there, the Chrysler building, Central Park, Macy's, New Jersey, our hotel, the Manhattan bridge and of course the Statue of Liberty which looks like a barbie doll from that distance. It was very awe inspiring, I am so glad that Chris ignored my complaining about my feet and pushed me to go up it.

After that we headed back to the hotel with dinner in hand from an Italian place that we found on the way back to the subway... lasagna and salad.... yummy!

We got back to the hotel ate, showered and got all dressed up and headed out again for the evening events. Note to all women pregnant or otherwise, after spending 8 hours wandering around on foot in NYC or any other city for that matter, do not and I repeat DO NOT wear 3 inch sexy pumps out if you have to do anymore that 10 minutes of additional walking... It is not in your feet's best interest!!!

The evenings events were to Broadway to see a musical... RENT! It was awesome! Just like everything else this weekend. Something I have never experienced, but will definitely do again. One of the leads was Frenchie Davis formerly of American Idol... Bad idea to cast her off the show, she was friggen fantastic. The whole cast was great and it was a perfect mix of all emotions. Very Sex in the City meets Friends meets Philadelphia meets That 70's Show, in a live Broadway sort of way.

After the musical I got to experience a crazy ride from a NYC/NJ car service driver, who got us back to the hotel in like 22 minutes! Should have taken 45 from what I understand... Damn, NYC professional drivers are insane!

That evening was filled with room service, packing, soaking feet in a cold tub and then sleep, in the HUGE king size bed.

The next day was full of travel, after another tasty buffet breakfast we said our goodbyes to Aimee and Bill and headed out via another car service on route to LaGuardia Airport for our flight home on West Jet. This was the first time I have flown since I was 5 or 6! Safe to say I will remember this flight...LOL

We met an awesome couple from the UK who are on an adventure around the world... They too were flying into Toronto from NYC. Their first adventure a 6 week Moose Tour across Canada then to Fiji, Australia, New Zealand and a couple other quick stops on the way back to the UK, they are not going to be back in the UK until sometime next year! I am sure they will have an awesome time.

Once we touched down at Pearson we hopped on the Robert Q and was back in my livingroom by 6pm est!

All in all it was an awesome weekend even though it rained and I woke up the first morning with a terrible sinus cold.

Thank you so much to all the parties involved, I love you all and will never forget this weekend! You all have made turning 30 a wonderful experience. I know this is going to be a great year.

Midwife Appt today...

So we met the second midwife today... Her name is Celeste, she is as awesome as Lisa :)
I am really happy that I am with a midwife instead of an OB, all the appointments are actually like a visit with a friend, and some basic prenatal stuff.

So here are the particulars of today

BP... 110/75
Baby's heartbeat... 140 to 150
Fundus... measuring 20cm right on track
Weight... up 7 lbs in 4 weeks total 16 lbs so far!

During the appt we went over the results from the ultrasound again and it turns out that I will be having another ultrasound in 6 weeks, apparently they couldn't get a clear shot of the heart and want to have another ultrasound just to make sure that everything in A. O. K. There is an up side to all of this, maybe Chris will get to be at this one!

So other than that everything is completely normal. It is weird to finally be classified as normal... Can't say I get that label too often!

In other news...

Today was really friggen hot we hit a high of 28 C that is insane for London in April! Since the average temp for this time of year is 12!

The Verdict is in...

So yesterday I hit the 20 week mark in this pregnancy. 1/2 way there :)

We had an ultrasound, it was amazing! To see all the moving parts and know that this little bundle of joy has 2 arms, 2 legs, 2 of everything else that it should have 2 of and 1 of all the things that there should only be one of, is a huge sigh of relief.
The heartbeat was registering a strong 148 bpm from the cutest little 4 chambered heart I have ever seen and this kid did not like to have pictures of his/her face taken. Every time the tech tried to get a shot of the face, his/her hands moved in front of it...lol two stubborn parents create one very stubborn little kid :)
We did find out the gender however there is only a 65% chance of it so we are keeping it a secret. The reasons are obvious to some and not so obvious to most. The main reason is that I know people want to shop, and shop for gender specific items, but 65% is not big enough odds to give anyone the go ahead to buy blue or pink. So for those of you who still feel compelled to buy gender specific colours, be careful! Oh an BTW, if you are thinking it is a girl and feel compelled to buy pink, keep in mind I hate the colour pink, always have. Blue and green and yellow really are my favourite colours and like I said to Chris, until this beautiful bundle of joy can tell me what colour he/she likes then it is the colour of my choice.

SO here are the photos for your interpretation... Enjoy

I need a new home ...

Prrrrrrr! Posted by Hello

SO as you all know my Mommy is excpecting a new baby, and there is not enough room in this place for me and a baby so I need to get out of here.
If you catch what I am saying, I am looking for new digs. I am the center of attention and am not about to share my domain with a baby!
So if you want me I am free :)
Just a little about me...
I am fixed and friendly, and come with all the necessary garb...(travel light eh!)
I love EVERYONE! If you are wearing black I will love you even more.
I love cuddling and kids and the crazy red dot that I find randomly on the wall & floor from time to time. I am low maintenance but high attention... if you are home I want to be near you, on you or around you. I like TV, books, movies, music and all things human. My favourite place to sit is in the window, and I have even been known to hang out with other cats. I loved to be brushed and I like to play box too!
I am apparently a purebread Maine Coon, but I am not too snotty about my pedigree.
I really love my Mommy, she loves me too, but I understand that it is time for me to move on... this little being that she has growing inside her needs all her attention and I understand that.
So if you want me send her an email at peapanne@hotmail.com and put Mr. Burns in the subject line.
Once again thanks for your time.
Mr. B

143 bpm

So we heard the heartbeat of this little machine growing inside of me, for the first time today. I also got to meet my midwife, she is amayzing. So the last 2 times that I was at the doctor my BP was high for me 135/90 or so, today at the midwife it was 110/75 :) I guess that just goes to prove that I am much more at ease in her office.
Well sorry it is a short post, it has been a really long day.

Oh btw Happy Birthday Mike, you didn't think I would forget did you?

I wish Michael had comments on his blog. I always want to leave on yet there is no place to do so. Any suggestions on how we can remedy this dilemma?

Thank you...

Thank you to all of you who have commented. I means so much :)

On a posting note... For those of you out there that are using MSN Mssgr and the audio conversation option there are better alternatives. May I introduce Skype! A truly FREE VOIP option. Chris and I used it last night after I have been hearing about it lots, and we are glad we did. Clear like a regular phone conversation, no lag like in MSN and easy to use. He was on a wireless connection in PA and it wasn't the best connection for MSN but we had no issues with Skype.

Try it, you will love it ... I promise.

I am not a good pregnant person!

Seriously, this is more than just a title.
I love the idea of being a parent.
I love the idea of helping mold a little human being into a productive, upstanding member of society.
I love the fact that I get to be a teacher, a doctor, a nurse, and a therapist all at the same time.
I love the thought that the man that I love and I, have created someone else... Through both luck and love.
I however, do not love being pregnant.
I keep hearing from people that this is the happiest most joyous time of your life.
I keep hearing that the 2nd trimester is the golden time in pregnancy.
I keep hearing that pregnancy is to be celebrated because it is one of the only things that a women can uniquely celebrate.
What I am not hearing is the reality of it all.
Maybe it is because I am selfish, maybe it is because this was unplanned, maybe it is because I am sick and tired of hearing all the free advice and the "I needs" from various people in my life.
Maybe it is just because I am not a good pregnant person!
I was talking to my bestest friend in the entire world today... Who is coincidentally my pseudo therapist, and I said something and then she re-emphasized it to me...
"This pregnancy does not define me!"
Why then does it feel like it does?
Why is it that when people talk to me that this pregnancy seems to be the only thing that there is to talk to me about?
Last time I checked I was still a human being of relatively high intelligence that managed to carry on intelligent human conversation with other homo sapiens before this pregnancy happened... Guess what, when these conversations happened we talked about things other than babies, pregnancy, labour and various other endless topic of conversation associated with this pregnancy.
What happened to sports, current events, movies and anything else going on in this world.
And why is it when I have a strong reaction to something that my reaction is blamed on hormones or pregnancy. Anyone who knows me, or has for a least an hour, knows that I am one of the most opinionated people around. If it is on my mind I will say it... Guess what this was a fact before I was pregnant! Nothing has changed... Except now I cry more and get frustrated a lot faster.
It is weird, and this may be the selfish part of me rearing it's ugly head, but... I know that this pregnancy is a huge event in a lot of peoples lives, especially family, however the more excited they get, the less excited I get.
Yes granted this is the first grandchild on both sides of the family and I know that everyone is really excited, but I have never been more stressed out by family in my entire life.
I guess the facts are this...
I do not really look pregnant,
I do not really feel pregnant, minus the fact that a number of my clothes are not fitting and the fact that I look like had implants.
I have not heard the heartbeat, and have not felt a kick.
I am sure one day I will look and feel pregnant but right now I just feel like I am missing out on so many things.
My days revolve around making sure that I get enough nutrients, H2O and rest to build a strong and healthy baby. Not to mention trying to keep enough energy for the end of the day to go to the gym to help keep my body healthy and my stress down.
Then on top of all this I try to go to work and just work... Do something that I am really good at, yet the stress of the family, the pregnancy and the fact that everyone feels compelled to talk to me only about this pregnancy makes me less productive and terribly grumpy when I am at the only place that I can conceivable go to, to concentrate on something else.
Thank you to a few of you... And you know who you are.. MW, AH, and CT for talking to me like I am still an intelligent human being. Thank you for supporting me when I am grumpy and thank you for not letting this pregnancy define me.
To everyone else... If you read this and you see me, or talk to me on the phone... Can we talk about something else the next time we meet face to face... It would truly make my day.
Yes I am complaining but it's my blog and I will grump if I want to.

Conundrum

Have you ever been in a situation that makes you doubt your decision, even though when you look at the parties involved in the situation you know you are still right?

I am in one of those precarious situations right now.

Lets explain it this way... Party A is young... Party B is Party A's senior by almost a decade. Party A is in a position in it's life where the only things that matter are partying and making sure that their budget is managed well enough to include gas for the car to get to the parties and the ocassional meal as to not result in death due to starvation. However, party B is in a very different stage, children, relationships, full time jobs, bills to pay that do not include debts to the local deal, you know the regular adult domestic stuff. Now Party B is wise and also very sensitive... call it a bit isolated if you will. Party A has shoot off mouth syndrome that has no effects on anyone because Party A has yet to learn that there is reprecusions for everything in life. A says a series of things to B without thinking and inadvertantly hurts B feelings and makes B doubt decisions that have been made long before the conversation occurs. Since A still has blaitant disregard for everything other than partying and the occasional meal, how does B deal with A? How does B help A to understand that this is wrong and that A needs to start to consider the possible outcome of the hurtful words that spew from A's mouth all too frequently?
Does it help with the dilemma if A and B are related?
What about if A doesn't repsect B?
Just to add another loop in it A nd B are the same gender!

Help... any input would be greatly appreciated.

Frustration abundance...

&^@%^%*&( (&*%&)%# *()&%^%$^&&??": !
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
&^@%^%*&( (&*%&)%# *()&%^%$^&&??": !

Sorry all, I am so frustrated and want to be able to blog about it but unfortunatly we live in a world where everything we do can be monitored and held against us. I am forced to scream on my blog to help me get out the frustrations that I cannot talk about, in fear of the reprecutions. So much for freedom of speech.

One the bright side of things... Tomorrow is the last day of the first trimester :)
I finally got a Midwife, her name is Lisa. I meet with her for the first time on the 21st. I am so very excited for this since I have a list of apprehensions directly correlated with conventional medicine and their general lack of ability to care for people holistically. If I wanted to be a considered a dollar sign or a pill I would go to AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Get my point?

I had a prenatal checkup on Monday, put on 4 pounds since the last time I was there. Not like I didn't already know that by the fact that my pants are tight and my back hurts from the growth upstairs... If you know what I mean. But all and all the visit went well. We couldn't hear the heartbeat with the Doppler, which was of no concern to my doctor, could be a number of variables... Namely that the Doppler was giving her grief. IF she had any concerns at all she would have sent me for another ultrasound other than technical malfunctions, she was not surprised since the baby is only the size of a jumbo shrimp and we could hear the woooshing of the placenta.

S & S Update
No more nausea
Coffee smells good again... Damn still can't have it
Headaches are here... Thank you hormones
Nosebleeds are here too... Again thank you hormones
My energy levels are up again... Working out has helped that :) Ah to be back at the gym.

Well more to come later... gotta go back to AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHland!
Enjoy your day.

Things to blog about...

So it is official... There is no NHL this year. I personally gave up hope in January. I guess the die hards were still hanging on to the possibility that those greedy bastards would be able to come to an agreement. When I say greedy bastards I mean both the players and the owners. Nothing irritates me more than someone who enjoys what they do for a living... is doing what they have always wanted to do, and then complains that millions of dollars per year is not enough of a wage. I mean it is not as if they work 60 hours a week under horrible conditions all the while barely making ends meet. They are paid to have the best medical and physical support, play in state of the art buildings, have technological advantages that cancer patients would kill for, and are still unsatisfied. Sure they bring joy to the masses and increase beer sales nationwide, but so do strippers and hot summer days. You tell me when was the last time your saw a 200 pound goalie take his clothes off in front of a bunch of drunken yahoos yelling obscenities at him, when all he or she is trying to do is pay off his or her enormous student loan debt. That may be a little harsh, but you get my point.
Then there are the owners. Give me a break... the fact that you are even entertaining the notion that these so called 'over paid jocks' are worth a salary cap in the 20 to 30 million dollar range. I mean come on you are just as much to blame for this. Times are so tough for you poor snivelling monkeys that you have to resort to low budget commercials. Enter the Quizno's ad on TV with Don Cherry and Tie Domi. Don't tell me money is an issue for you greedy bastards... I am sure that commercial wasn't done for free.
It all really makes me wonder... if we paid our doctors, nurses and teaches as much as we pay our pro athletes, would we have the issues we have with education and healthcare?

Food for thought... now blog about it!

Has it been over a week already?

Well happy Valentine's Day all.

I honestly think that this has turned into a mass marketed holiday. An excuse for florists and candy makers to jack up their prices and make people feel terrible for not expressing their love all year long. A true sign of a valentine is someone who shows you how important you are every day, not just on the day that they are told to by the cards and the calendar. Chris and I chose not to do anything special for Valentine's Day this year. Instead we went out on a date last night, dinner and a movie and just enjoyed each others company. Mind you I suppose we are in a bit of a unique situation since we are "growing" the ultimate example of our love as we speak. Sorry to get all mushy on you for a moment... Hormones... They are beyond my control. All I am saying is that if you truly love someone, why not show them all year long? A little note in their lunch, or an I love you email for no apparent reason will go a long way in keeping you out of the proverbial dog house then a dozen roses and a card will on one single day.

So this whole pregnancy thing has me all over the emotional roller coaster. It is amazing to me how one day I can feel sorta normal( nausea and headache aside) and the n wake up at 4 o clock in the morning and just start crying. Any woman who said pregnancy is a joy must not have memory of the first trimester, either that or is in denial! Today is actually the first day that I have felt pretty normal. My clothes are starting to be a lot less comfortable, and not just my pants. I am not really nauseous anymore, have no headache today and was actually in pretty good spirits all day long. I am actually gonna chock this one up to a full nights sleep last night( I consider it full when I only get up once to make a trip to the potty). For the first time in about a month I have slept more than about 4 hours and it really helped.
Everyone has said that once the first trimester is over things get better for a few months... I have a week and 4 days to go. Time will tell.

Thanks to Mr. Kuiack and the Princess for their blog well wishes on the pregnancy. It means so much when people from your past have nice things to say in the present about your future.

So we are very much struggling with the name game. I think we have concreted middle names for both a boy (John Thomas after our grandfathers) and a girl (Elizabeth which is common amongst 6 of our family members), however we struggle on The Peanut's first name. We came across a couple likely candidates this weekend, Cassandra for a girl and Austin for a boy. Any one have any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated, I never realized how big of an undertaking it would be to come up with a name that we could both agree on, and that wasn't already taken in our families.

Well time to feed the Peanut.

Cheers all.

Mmmm Guacamole

So I heard several times on the news today a very disturbing fact about the Superbowl and Guacamole 43.5 million pounds will be consumed by Americans during the Superbowl. That is insane! It astounds me that Americans are confused as to why they have an obesity issue... Well duh do you think that it would have something to do with this kind of excessiveness? The Guac is not so bad its actually pretty healthy if you use this recipe and eat it with baked corn chops or veggies. But as we are all guilty of it is more likely to be enjoyed with fried Tostitos that will accompany the chili, the cheese, the sour cream, the wings, and not to mention the millions of gallons of bad American beer that will be used to wash it all down.

So needless to say this brainwashing that I was subjected to lead me home to prepare a batch of guac myself. I am personally a huge fan of the stuff and am very pleased to announce that the baby is too. A very good thing since this little critter is changing my tastebuds and the stuff I loved 3 weeks ago makes me nauseous today. Ah the ever present joys of being an expectant Mom. Anyway my recipe is a simple one, I like the taste of avocados so I try not to drown it too much... Here it is

2 ripe avocados
1 ripe roma tomato diced
tbsp or so of lemon juice
fresh garlic to taste
S & P to your liking
hot sauce for kick ( optional)
It's not rocket science just remove the avocado from the skin... It should smoosh right out if it is ripe enough then add all the other stuff, mix and eat!

If you don't want the added carbs with the Tostitos, add it to a wrap with Tuna and it is amazing!

So we have been invited to a Superbowl party this weekend and I think I may be a full on hypocrite and bring guac... The healthy version though with baked spinach chips. We will see... Time will tell, who knows by Sunday I may not have the taste buds for it.

I had another pregnancy milestone today... as I was getting ready for work I realized that my favourite pair of work pants was almost impossible to get done up. Me being in denial, I suffered through the first have of my day in complete and utter discomfort. I promptly changed as soon as I walked in the door for lunch and instantly felt better. Lesson learned if it is uncomfortable, don't so it!

Well that is all for now... Don't be too shocked that I posted 2 days in a row :)

And she blogs again

I can just hear the gasps of disbelief from the peanut gallery right now.. OMG she has blogged, and a real entry not just a link to a great post on someone else's blog.
I would apologize but that is pointless... Those of you who talk to me regularly know that I am famous for my long blogging sobaticals.

Well lets get started and bring everyone up to speed...
Since it has been a while Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all (better late than never I suppose).
A lot has changed in my life recently for example a week and a half ago we found out that I am pregnant! This lead me to 2 weeks off work due to terrible sickness associated to the pregnancy. I am still not 100 % very much day to day but there is a light at the end of the tunnel I am told. In 2 weeks 2 days I will be done the 1st trimester and from what I hear it becomes smooth sailing for a bit. Fingers crossed!
So to answer the pending questions before they happen...
1. Yes this is a good thing, unexpected but welcomed non the less.
2. No this was not planned, as a matter of fact when I was 21 I was diagnosed with PCOS
and was told by several doctors and specialist that I would have a very small chance of ever conceiving naturally. So you can imagine our surprise when the doctor called to give me the test results. I literally hung up on her...Oops!
3. No we are not getting married. At least not right now. Neither Chris or I see this as a valid reason to get married, I mean us getting married would be no different than a couple that has been married for 20 years unhappily staying together for the sake of the children. Contrary to the desires of a couple parents we are going to happily stay unmarried and raise our baby to be a happy and functional member of society.
4. No we do not know the sex of the child and we are not sure if we want to know at this point either. Healthy is all we care about, just like every other parent to be.
5. Do we have any names picked out yet? Well nothing set in stone but we like Dylan and Emma so far but hey there is still over 6 months to go before we have to actually decide.
6. What do I want? I would love to have a boy but that really has nothing to do with me... Chris's genes actually have that control. Either way I will love the peanut in which ever form he or she presents itself in.

So as you can imagine the blog is going to turn into somewhat of a pregnancy journal for a bit. An electronic place to keep track of it all.
I am posting a couple pics for you all to see first is one is a fuzzy ultrasound picture of the peanut at 8 weeks 5 days and the 2nd is the happy couple.
Enjoy the readings folks... It appears that I am back for a bit. :)

Bullying

Written Inc.
I know it has been a long time and this is far from a blog entry but this is an issue that really hits home. So many of the people I know and love fall into this category... as Carmi so elequently puts it... 1 time is too many.

Are you a bully, or were you on the other end of it?

Stay tuned for pics from the new digs...

A fat cat sits in the corner of a new apartment, while the snow falls gently.

I know it has been a while since I blogged. Sorry I have been busy... looking for an apartment and all.
Great News!! We got an apartment:) Woo Hoo the quest is over!
2 bedrooms, 2 FULL bathrooms, 10 foot Ceilings... no shared walls, floors or ceilings with adjoining apartments, full covered front porch, Windows, Windows, Windows and above ground! The best part is 750 all inclusive.
I am so excited I can hardly wait.

My sister's birthday was yesterday... she is 28 now!
I know I am late with the greeting but I don't think she reads my blog anyway. She has just recently began her quest along the information super highway. MSN Messenger and basic internet searches are the extent of her computer literacy. Her most recent addition is a really sweet new colour cell phone.

Isn't it strange how two individuals who were created from identical strands of DNA can be so polar opposite in so many situations. You look around my house and it's not hard to tell that a couple of tech junkies live here. Computers, PDA's MP3, digi cams (speaking of check out the 2 new photos... a new Mr. Burns and the snow out there right now!), etc, etc, etc,

Sorry so short, I am exausted! Need to hit the hay.
So like I said earlier...
A fat cat sits in the corner of a new apartment, while the snow falls gently.

Night all.

I found this entry in draft format, I must of got taken away from the computer...

Fish Sticks & Fries and Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup... I'm 8 again!

Mmmmm, do you remember all the great meals you had as a kid. The easy ones that Mom made. For me it was Fish Sticks & Fries and Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup...
What was Yours?

Either way, I have had both of these favs today... and it reminded me of how simple all your meals were when you were a kid.

Look at the menus we are presented with every day...

We can open any phone book turn to the yellow pages and have an abundance of gourmet foods at you finger tips (faster yet google local take out food + your city). Yet we still fall back on the staples of our youth to remind us of how simple it was to be a kid.

Well here are the photos that I captured on my camera from the Halloween party last night. I will post more when I start getting them from everyone else. The party was amazing... the house looked awesome and so did everyone at it. a 10 out of 10 I say!

Bet you wish you were there.
Maybe Next year!

Happy Haunting!
